...I rode a motorcycle for the first time!! (Well, second if you count riding it very slowly in the parking garage, but first time on the real streets!!) AND....YES I am 1/2 to being a nurse and YES I have learned about head injuries and YES I still rode the motorcycle. HA. It was a lot of fun. He has been dying for me to ride it and I finally gave in. I have always thought they are dangerous and still do, but it was a lot of fun! We both had helmets on and didn't go over 37mph so we played it very very safe!
...Went to Waco Saturday morning to get in the car with my parents and grandmother to head to Stephenville to my great aunt's 90th birthday party! She is so sweet and adorable. It was nice seeing some family I haven't seen in a while and meeting some 2nd cousins for the first time in a very long time. I am not so sure if my aunt really knew it was her birthday or not, but at least she was surrounded by family. It was a quick day trip and then I headed back to Austin.
...I experienced an Episcopalian church for the first time yesterday. I really wanted to start going to church with Will since we are in the same town for now so, we went to the church he has gotten involved in here in Austin. I really enjoyed it. There are some traditions that I am not used to, but I would love to go back next week as well. Could I see myself there long term? I don't know yet.
...I enjoyed Sample Sunday at HEB! We tried lots of fun new recipes. We enjoyed this bean recipe that this lady made and we brought it home to make ourselves. It was very good I might add. The sauce had Shiner Bock (Will's fav) and Dr. Pepper (my fav), couldn't be more perfect right? We had it with our dinner and it was very good!
...I still have a sinus infection!!! I think I had been dealing with this constantly for over a year now! I feel like they should just pull it all out! (gross, sorry, but this is getting really old!) I have recently finished two rounds of antibiotics, one of which was for two weeks! AND niether of them came close to working! So, I called the doctor back hoping I wouldn't have to drive to Waco to pay another co-pay to have them tell me once again it is a sinus infection! I like the doctor a lot, he knows me very well, so he didn't mind just prescribing me some more drugs! I am now on a strong antibiotic that is about quadruple the normal dose along with mucinex! I really hope that it goes away this time and if not, he is going to refer me to a ENT. Blah.
...had a girl's weekend in San Antonio with my best friend, Elizabeth a few weekends ago. We haven't really hung out in forever! She has a one year old and lives in San Antonio and I stay crazy busy in Dallas with school so....our schedules never match up! This girl's weekend was much needed and very much enjoyed by both of us! We went out Friday and had the best white wine sangria E.V.E.R and her parents were awesome to keep sweet little Christian. Saturday we shopped all day and that night we made bellinis and watched a movie in our PJs. Sunday we took Christian to the pool and took it easy! It was fun and hope to do it again before the summer ends!! And Christian is such a good and handsome little guy!
...I had my first experience on 6th st two weekends ago! Will moved apartments within the same apartment complex, just got a bigger place. It is much more spaceous! His friend, Ben, came to help move along with Elizabeth and Russell. We are blessed with such sweet friends. After we finished moving we took naps, showered, and got ready for our fun filled evening ahead. We went to dinner, Jon and his girlfriend joined the rest of us! We went to Chez Zee, here in Austin, which is one of my favorite places. After dinner we hung out at Will's before heading off to 6th St. 6th St. was fun! Elizabeth and I kept the guys entertained and we all had a blast.
...I am poor. I am 24 years old and living off my dad's credit card. Oh how I want this next year to fly by and my career to start. I do not have a job this first half of summer and I am living cheaply, haha! I am really ready to start my career and get my life together! I have enjoyed my time in school and being on the parents health and auto insurance, but it is time to be on my own! I am glad I chose nursing, it just took me a degree to decide I wanted a different degree. At this point in my life I just feel like I don't have any place to call home and it has been difficult. I have most of my things in Plano at my sister's house (which I will move when I find a place), I have lots of things in Waco at my parent's house, and I also have lots of things here in Austin where I have been this summer. Ohhh how I feel so scattered and ready to have a place that is Rachel's!! This day will come and I am excited!
...I am leaving for Camp Longhorn on June 20th. I do get class credit for being a nurse at camp and I also get paid! Yay! After camp ends on July 11th I am hoping to get a patient care tech job at St. Davids for the last half of summer!
...Will is still looking for a job. He has worked very hard at putting out his resume and applying for every job out there for accounting! Please say a prayer for his job search! It has been stressful for the both of us and we have been very rocky at times!! I am trying to be as supportive as possible and giving tough love where it is needed! He is very intelligent, handsome, has a great degree from Baylor, and I know that a job will fall in his lap!
...So far this summer has not gone as planned, but has been very enjoyable for the most part!
