Now lets fast forward, shall we?! I have now been a nurse for over 3 years. I work full time at the Heart Hospital Baylor Plano in the ER. I work as needed at Carrollton, Baylor Regional Medical Center of Plano, the Heart Hospital of Denton, and also just started picking up ER and Pre Op shifts with a nurse agency. I promise I really don't work as much as that sounds, I have just left my options open and I'm trying to soak up new experiences when I can. God has blessed me with an awesome career choice! I love what I do, love meeting new people, love my co workers, and love making a difference in people's lives when possible. I cannot believe how fast time has flown by. My current goal is to obtain my CEN (Certified Emergency Nurse), but I have yet to pick up all the study material I have bought. I hope to set a date and make myself study.
I have just been presented with an opportunity to start travel nursing with a girl I used to work with. She asked me to be her "travel buddy". I have research it tonight and it looks amazing. The pay would be great, the work experience would be life changing, and traveling all over the US would be something I would never forget, and I could pay off school loans wayyy faster!! All of this sounds like an opportunity I can't pass up, right? Well, I start to think about my family that I am so used to seeing on a regular basis, my current full time job that I love!, my puppy, and Mark (more on both of my boys later). I don't have to decide now or even in a week, so this is something I will be praying about, asking family for advice, and contemplating for a while. Pray for me, will you?
Now an update on the family. I love these people and I am so thankful that they are mine! I have 7 beautiful nieces and nephews that are going way to fast!
Trey will be starting the 5th grade. He just had his 10th birthday and is loving life. He loves Angry Birds, Spider Man, drawing, trampolines, and building with legos. We say we are each others buddies!
Micah just had his 9th birthday and will be in the 4th grade. He is quite the athlete and has an amazing 6 pack that would make anyone jealous! He is involved in track, soccer, and boys scouts! Oh and off the charts smart at school!
Ryan is 8 and will be in the 3rd grade. He has started attending a Catholic school and has really excelled in school there. He has played all sports, his favorites being football and baseball. Oh and have I mentioned I think he is possibly the funniest kid I know?
Caleb is 8 and will also be in the 3rd grade! He scored the highest on his math test than any other kid in his grade level. He is crazy smart. He loves building things and playing sports. He has enjoyed baseball and basketball.
Carly just turned 6 years old and will be in the 1st grade. She is a smart little one as well! Two years ago yesterday Carly was diagnosed with Type I diabetes. It was a life changing event for her and her family. She was in the ICU (I am tearing up just thinking about it), and in DKA. She was a trooper and had taken her lifestyle change like a champ. I can't imagine handling this situation half as well as she has. She has accepted her diet changes, numerous blood sugar checks, and insulin shots. I am more than proud of her and will also look to her as my hero! She loves all things girly, princess, etc! Oh and Carly gives the best hugs out there!
Bailey is 4 and will start preschool this fall. She is a girly girl! She loves makeup, jewelry, bows, fixing hair, and dressing up! She is a great shopping buddy too! She is a very easy going, go with the flow type of person! If you need a self esteem boost, get ready with Bailey, she loves to tell you have beautiful you look and that she loves your outfit! She loves writing her name and I know she will love preschool!
And lastly, Andrew! He is 3 and all boy! He cracks me up! He never stops going going going! He goes to "school" and loves it! He loves catching frogs, lizards, etc! He is into Monsters Inc and Cars. Andrew is out blonde hair blued eyed handsome little guy. He is getting so big, not our little baby anymore! :(
My parents are going pretty good. My dad is working in Baytown, Texas now. My mom is back and forth between Waco and Baytown right now. She is stretched a little thin, but is seriously one of the toughest people I know. She just celebrated 12 years cancer free! And my dad is still running and training for another marathon in December.
And Momo had her 90th birthday! We had an awesome party to celebrate her! There were about 50 people there, we enjoyed cake and Dr. Pepper floats at the Dr. Pepper Museum. Momo has slowed down this past year and more so recently. It is so hard to see. She has had several TIAs, hard to control high blood pressure, and recently diagnosed with diastolic heart failure. Her anxiety levels have raised and we are having to get her extra care at home. Pray for her and my mom.

And that Mark guy I mentioned earlier is quite a special guy in my life. We went on our first date on September 29th, 2010. We have had some ups and downs, but more ups than anything. He is special to me and has made my last three years enjoyable. His love for my family, especially my nieces and nephews is so wonderful. His family has accepted me and been great over all. I love this guy a lot. I can't wait to hopefully marry him one day. But enough with sappy stuff....
And Griffin, my puppy! I found Griff at a pound on February 23rd of this year. He was perfect addition for me! He came to me and then licked Micah's nose so it was love at first sight! :) He has been so fun! I really don't have to explain his name to my Baylor fans!
So there is the short/long update of my life! Maybe I'll update more often this time!
